A B S T R A C T
Perfil Institucional deals with how the religiosity may contribute or restrain the changes in the Brazilian society. Having in view the reflection in the field of culture and religion, the Instituto de Estudos e Religião (ISER) was founded in the seventies to unfold projects of research in four thematic areas: religion and society; violence, human rights and public security; environment and sustainable development and organization of civil society.
