When approaching the literary production on the Contestado War it's necessary to take into account important categories for history such as testimony, memory and archive, as well as to consider the role of authors in relation to the past and history. This work maps the literary collection produced about the Contestado War to identify what Leonor Arfuch calls “temporalities of memory”, showing that there are peculiarities in the way of writing about a traumatic event in the periods that follow it.
